EF 28-90mm f4-5.6 introduced 2000 The EF 28-90mm f4-5.6 is a lightweight and compact standard zoom lens available in two versions - with and without USM (ultrasonic motor). It is the first lens from Canon with this particular range of focal lengths. It replaces the EF 28-80mm lens and will become the standard zoom entry-level and mid-range EOS models. The new EOS 30 camera will be sold as a kit with the USM version of this lens. The lens features aspherical elements; this improves image quality across the entire zoom range by reducing lens aberrations. The lens elements are also environmentally-friendly-- the use of lead-free glass reduces pollution at the manufacturing stage. Smoother zooming operation is provided by a new mechanical construction and lubrication system. Construction: 10/8 | |
