EF 24mm f2.8

introduced 1988

The EF 24mm f2.8 possesses a usefully wide angle of view (74° horizontal) without extreme perspective effects. It is therefore a very convenient wide angle for general use and was developed to fulfil the needs of the serious user.

By using a floating rear element focusing system, picture quality is improved, particularly at short distances and low aberration sharp images are made possible throughout the entire shooting range. The rear element focusing system also increases drive speed (0.3 sec's from infinity to closest focusing distance of 0.25m) and drive noise is reduced.
