The EF 200mm f1.8L is a high performance lens that fulfils the needs of the professional photographer in different fields such as fashion and indoor sports by providing high picture quality, fast speed and good blurred background effects.

The optical system uses three elements of ultra-low dispersion (UD) glass, thus correcting chromatic aberration (secondary spectrum) common to large aperture telephoto lenses.

Equipped with an Ultra Sonic Motor (USM) inside the lens, high speed autofocus is possible with a speed of only 0.6 seconds between infinity and the closest focusing distance of 2.5m. The lens is also equipped with a manual focusing system using am extremely smooth-acting electronic focus ring.

Also built into the focus system is a preset focus memory. Upon activation of this memory, focus can be returned to a predetermined point virtually instantaneously.
