Some Canon EOS cameras are sold under different names in different parts of the world. The three main market areas are Europe, USA and Japan. A couple of models also have special names in Asia (where eight is considered a lucky number). The following table gives a guide to these names. There are sometimes differences between models in different areas. In Japan, for example, the camera is often sold as standard with a built-in quartz-date (QD) back. In other countries, the camera is sold without an QD back, though a QD version of the camera may also be available. There can also be slight variations to the specification of the same model in different areas of the world. This may be to meet local regulations, or to suit local requirements.
