Submitting photographs

The EOS magazine picture library is now entirely digital, which eliminates any risk of loss or damage to your original photographs. We accept images scanned from film shot with an EOS camera, and image files taken on an EOS digital camera.

• Images should be submitted as TIFF or JPEG files on CD or DVD (ISO 9600 format for compatability with PC and Mac computers).

• Use a file size of 10Mb to 50Mb at 300dpi when uncompressed (saved JPEG files will often be smaller than this).

• Do not apply any sharpening in Photoshop or similar imaging software (in-camera sharpening is acceptable)

• Use Adobe RGB colour space if you have the option.

• The technical information (camera, lens, exposure etc) and specific technique or caption should be attached to each image file using EXIF (found in Photoshop > File > File info). Otherwise, a covering letter should provide this information for each image.

• Each submission must be accompanied by a print-out of thumbnails of the images contained on the CD.

• Your full name, postal address and e-mail address should be attached to both the CD and the print-out.

• DO NOT send image files by e-mail unless specifically requested.

Agreement form

Every photographer who has work accepted for the EOS magazine picture library will be asked to sign an agreement form which will be sent to you when your first batch of pictures is accepted. Please read the terms of the agreement carefully before signing and returning the form.
