EOS magazine website
We are in the process of giving the EOS magazine website a complete makeover. Some pages are already in the new style - the rest will follow. The EOS System section will be expanded to provide a comprehensive guide to all the cameras, lenses, flash guns and accessories. An online shop will soon be introduced for Canon instruction manuals and other photo items. Visit EOS Magazine to watch the progress of the site.
Cashback vouchers
Buy an EOS 350D or 20D over the next few months and receive a book of cashback vouchers. The cameras carrying these offers come in clearly marked promotional packaging. There are 13 cashback vouchers in the booklet, ranging from EF and EF-S lenses and Extenders to Speedlite flashguns and an inkjet printer. The offer is available in 14 European countries. Further details are at Canon Cashback Promotion
The Shot replayed
Canon has relaunched The Shot - an interactive photo competition hosted on the official website of UEFA. The original competition during UEFA EURO 2004 attracted over 1.3 million visitors. Available now, the website will be updated after each UEFA Champions League matchday with the very best images captured at each game by Getty Images. Football and photography fans can then visit the site and vote on which pictures they think are the most visually exciting. By registering to vote and taking part in the competition, fans can win a range of fantastic prizes. The Grand Prize is a once in a lifetime VIP trip to a UEFA Champions League game during next year's competition.
Canon tops digital league
Canon is the market leader in western European digital camera sales for the third consecutive year, according to figures released by analyst house IDC. Canon increased its leadership position in 2004 to claim a 16.8% share of the entire western European digital camera market, which saw total shipments across all brands exceed 25 million units. According to IDC research, 38.4 million (24.4%) of all households in western Europe own a digital camera. This trend looks set to continue with household penetration rates expected to increase further in 2005.
Just 22p per print
Digital camera owners can now print their photos for as little as 22p per print with the Canon SELPHY CP Compact Photo Printer range. Canon is offering its KP-108IP Colour Ink/Paper Set - which includes 108 popular 4 x 6 inch+ size photo sheets - for the highly competitive recommended retail price of just £23.99. The SELPHY CP Compact Photo Printer range uses dye-sublimation technology and offers the convenience and immediacy of obtaining high quality, long lasting photo prints direct from any PictBridge compatible digital camera. They are designed to be easy to use and support a wide variety of print sizes from Credit Card size to Wide (4 x 8 inches).
Waterproof binoculars
The image stabilisation technology found in some EF lenses is also available in a range of Canon binoculars. The latest model - 10 x42L IS WP - is not only waterproof, but also features two ultra-low dispersion (UD) lens elements to correct for chromatic aberrations. You can find further details at Canon Binoculars
