News from Experience Seminars

Experience Seminars is a photo training company offering seminars around the UK. Following the success of mid-week courses at their offices in Cambridgeshire, they are introducing a programme of mid-week courses in Manchester, running from Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 November 2006.

Experience Seminars has also introduced a specific course covering the EOS 350D. This adds to their courses for EOS 5D and 30D camera owners, and many other courses covering most aspects of digital photography and Speedlite flash photography.

If you want to learn more about the practical aspects of photography, Experience Seminars offers a range of Days Out and Photo Shoot events. In addition to their popular Big Cat days at reserves in Hertfordshire and Kent, there are macro Days Out at butterfly houses around the country, and many other events around the UK.

For full details of their programme, visit Experience Seminars.

Classifieds site beats magazine pages

If you are a subscriber to EOS magazine, you will have seen that we have dropped the classified advert pages in favour of a new Classifieds website.

A few readers have complained about this, saying that the magazine pages were much busier than the site. In fact, the opposite is true.

Although the site does not look that busy, it is actually carrying more than double the number of ads we published in EOS magazine. The classified site was launched at the end of March and attracted 351 adverts in the first three months. The December 2005 issue of EOS magazine featured 135 items from 78 advertisers, also for a three month period.

The difference is, of course, that adverts only remain on the classifieds site until they are sold. There is continual replacement. On the magazine pages you saw three months of adverts together.

If you have any comments about this, or any other aspect of EOS magazine, please e-mail Robert Scott.

EOS Discovery shows

Canon EOS Discovery shows are a series of free events aimed at photography enthusiasts. The series is designed to inspire participants about photography and develop their knowledge of the EOS SLR camera system.

The shows will take place at London’s Business Design Centre in Islington. You can choose between sessions on Thursday 3 August at 6.00–8.00pm and Saturday 5 August at 9.00am–12.00pm or 2.00–5.00pm.

The series is presented by photography experts, including renowned celebrity and music photographer Andy Earl (www.andyearl.com). Demonstrating how professional photographers use EOS in their work, the shows will explore nature, fashion, sports and reportage photography, providing tips and techniques to help amateurs extend their photographic skills. Post-shoot possibilities will be demonstrated with iPhoto and Aperture image processing applications from Apple.

Places are strictly limited. To register, visit EOS Discovery.
