The first Canon SLR to feature a built-in flash unit. Exposure is automatic only. The 35-70mm A lens does not have the 'A/M' switch which allows manual focusing ? it is autofocus only. Quartz Date version available.

Type:
35mm autofocus, single-lens reflex camera with electronically-controlled automatic exposure, focal plane shutter, built-in motor drive and integral flash.
Format: 24x36mm.
Usable Lenses: Canon EF lenses (full aperture metering only).
Lens Mount: Canon EF mount (electronic signal transfer system).
Viewfinder: Fixed eye-level pentaprism. Gives 92% vertical and horizontal coverage of actual picture area and 0.8x magnification at infinity with a 50mm f1.8 lens.
Dioptric Adjustment: Built-in eyepiece is adjusted to standard -1 diopter. (Eyepoint: 6.2 inch/16.0mm).
Focusing Screen: Overall new laser-matte screen with AF frame.
Mirror: Quick-return half-mirror.
Viewfinder Information: Displayed at the bottom of the viewing area.
• AF in-focus symbol: Lights up when AF is possible. Blinks at 8 Hz when AF is not possible. In Depth-of-Field Modes, blinks at first and second in-focus. Blinks at 4 Hz when the subject is out of the focus zone.
• Exposure symbol: Lights up for correct exposure and flash charge completion. Blinks at 2 Hz for camera-shake warning. Blinks 8 Hz for out of coupling range warning. Off when flash is charging.
Shutter: Electronically controlled vertical-travel focal plane shutter.
Shutter Speed: 1/2000-2 sec. X-sync speed is 1/125 sec.
Self-Timer: Electronically controlled with a 10 sec. delay. Self-timer operation is indicated by beeper tone. (At 2 Hz for 8 secs. from the start, then at 8 Hz for 2 secs.).

Autofocus
AF Control System: TTL-SIR (TTL secondary image registration) phase-detection type using BASIS (base-stored image sensor). AF in-focus symbol lights in viewfinder and short beeper tone emits. Beeper tome cannot be turned off. When AF is impossible, in-focus symbol blinks at 8 Hz.
Focus Mode:
• One Shot modes: AF operation ends and focus is locked once ranging is completed. Shutter can be released upon completion of ranging.
• Manual: By rotating the manual focusing ring after focus mode switch is set to ‘M’.
AF Working Range: EV 1-18 at ISO 100.
AF Auxiliary Light: Built-in AF auxiliary light on EOS 750, operates when the flash switch is set to Auto.

Exposure control
Light Metering System: TTL full aperture metering using SPC: Evaluative metering.
Exposure Modes:
• Intelligent Program AE.
• Depth-of-Field AE.
• TTL program flash AE (with built-in flash or the Speedlite 160E), automatic fill-in flash and automatic flash at low-light level.
• A-TTL program flash AE (with Speedlite 420EZ and 300EZ).
Camera-Shake Warning: When automatically-set shutter speed falls 0 to 0.5 steps below 1/focal length of the lens in use, ‘P’ blinks at 2 Hz. No camera-shake warning when the built-in flash or dedicated flash is used.
Metering Range: EV 0-20 with 50mm f1.4 at ISO 100. (EV 3-20 in high temperature and humidity).

Film Transport
Film Speed: ISO 25-3200 is automatically set in full steps according to DX code. For non DX-coded film, set t ISO 25.
Film Transport: Pre-wind system.
Film Loading: Automatic. After film positioning and back cover closure, the film automatically advances to the end of the roll and then stops (approx. 14 secs. with 24 exposure film).
Film Wind: Automatic using a built-in miniature motor. Continuous mode only. Single exposure mode with Depth-of-Field shooting. Confirmation by frame counter.

Built-in Flash
Type: Pentaprism built-in, retractable, TTL-automatic flash. Aperture control with a parallel control system.
Guide Number: At ISO 100: 12m/39ft.
Recycling Time: Approx. 2 seconds.
Flash Duration: 1 msec. or less.
Flash Coverage Angle: Covers the field of view of 35mm lens.
Flash Condition:
• Automatic fill-in flash when backlight is detected.
• Automatic low-light flash.
X-sync Shutter Speed: 1/60 - 1/125 sec. Sync. Timing: First curtain sync. only.
Flash Control System: TTL automatic control by metering light reflected from the film surface.
Flash Coupling Range: 2.3-19.7ft/0.7-6.0m at ISO 100.
Charge Completion Indication: ‘P’ lights up. Release is locked during flash charging.
Power Source for Built-in Flash: Supplied by camera’s battery.
Flash Contact: Coupled directly to the camera on the accessory shoe.
Automatic Flash: Built-in flash or when using the Speedlite 160E. Using the camera’s TTL program, the correct aperture value is automatically set according to the brightness of the subject. X-sync speed is automatically set between 1/60 and 1/125 sec. TTL automatic flash aperture control by metering light reflected from the film plane. Fill-in flash is possible.

Power source
Battery: One 6v lithium batter pack (2CR5) supplies power to body and built-in flash (EOS 750/750 QD).
Battery Check: By rotating the selector dial to the battery check position. OK: at 8 Hz, have a new battery handy: at 2Hz, no tone: battery exhausted.

Date Imprint Function of the EOS 750 QD
Type: Built-in LCD (liquid crystal display) quartz digital automatic calendar and clock. Programmed to cover the period 1987 to 2019 - corrections automatically made for long and short months and leap years.
Imprint Formats:
• Year/Month/Day.
• Day/Hour/Minute.
• Month/Day/Year.
• Day/Month/Year.
Can be turned off if no imprint desired.
Clock Accuracy: Accurate within 90 sec. per month at moderate temperatures 68F/20C.
Battery: CR2025 3v lithium battery. Life approx. 3 years.
